EACC Vice Chairperson Dr Monica Wanjiru Muiru has described asset recovery as a clear measure of accountability, noting that reclaiming corruptly acquired assets and returning them to public use strengthens confidence in state institutions.
Dr Muiru represented the Commission at the Trust Summit 2026, Nairobi Dialogue on Global Trust, held from 21 to 23 October 2026 at Glee Hotel, Nairobi.
During the Leadership Baraza, “Standing on Solid Ground of Democratic Values,” moderated by Ms Janet Mbugua, she cited the Commission’s asset recovery work as evidence of turning integrity pledges into meaningful public outcomes.

She urged delegates to personally commit to fighting corruption, emphasising that an ethical society depends on efforts from both institutions and individuals.
EACC supports the Summit’s emphasis on restoring public trust through responsible leadership, reliable institutions and actionable commitments.
The initiative creates space to deepen collaboration and promote shared responsibility for integrity in public life.
