
A Nairobi woman has been charged for allegedly defrauding a man of KSh. 200,000 under the guise of offering him a job in Denmark.
Appearing before Nairobi Principal Magistrate Paul Mutai, the suspect, Leah Wanjiku faced a charge of obtaining money through false pretences.
According to the charge sheet seen by Kauntnews.com, Ms. Wanjiku collected the funds from Alexander Kyalo Peter by falsely promising to help him land a job in Denmark, knowing full well she could not fulfill the promise.

The crime was allegedly committed on September 30, 2025, at Absa Towers on Loita Street, Nairobi.
Following probe into the fake employment scheme, the Director of Public Prosecutions approved the charges and brought her to trial. She denied the allegations.
Principal Magistrate Paul Mutai granted her a KSh. 100,000 bond as she awaits trial.
The case is set to be mentioned on September 22, 2026, for pre-trial directions.
